According to the Health and Safety Executive, 'falls from height are one of the biggest causes of workplace fatalities and major injuries with common causes coming from falls from ladders or through fragile roofs'. They define working at height as: 'work in any place where, if there are no precautions in place, a person could fall a distance liable to cause personal injury, for example... working on a ladder on a flat roof, fall through a flat surface, fall into an opening in a floor or a hole in the ground'. The Health and Safety Executive advise that before working at height you must 'avoid work at height where it is reasonably practicable to so do'.

UAVs provide the perfect alternative for carrying out building/roof inspections and other surveys where working at height is unavoidable. It is much safer to send a UAV to carry out the survey rather than having to send a person who would be placed at risk of injury or death.

We are able to take high-resolution photographs, and where necessary HD video, allowing you to analyse the survey area from the safety of the ground. We can survey a much larger area in a shorter space of time and due to the fact all images are tansmitted to our screens on the ground, during the flight, we can make course alterations in order to look at specific areas as we need to.

UAVs then, provide a great, safer option for working at height and it can also be a much more cost effective soltuion as it negates the need for erecting scaffolding, which can be expensive and time consuming.
